就是漢喊敬語拼音，開頭字母大寫。北京的Peking是清末中國還沒有拼音時外國對北京的音譯，現(xiàn)在也用，現(xiàn)在也沒扮可鄭察慎寫作Beijing。
過去我們沒有規(guī)范漢語轉(zhuǎn)寫漢語的規(guī)定，一直使用的是很不規(guī)范的威氏拼音來拼漢字的賀困英文。所以出現(xiàn)了:tsinghua, peking等。但這種拼音完全是根據(jù)發(fā)音來的，不同的方言所寫的文字就不一樣，比如廈門，北京人就得寫Hsiamen，而廈門人自己寫成AMoy。后來新中國成立后，為了對外交流的方便和拼寫的規(guī)范，規(guī)定用漢語拼音方案來統(tǒng)一中國專有名詞的英文轉(zhuǎn)寫。于是tsinghua變成隱此了qinghua, peking變禪攜念成了beijing，AMoy變成了Xiamen。
中國解放以晌陵行后大陸才頒布實施漢語拼音方案，按照漢語拼音規(guī)則“北京宴嘩”翻譯成“Beijing”。
在漢語拼音出現(xiàn)之前采用的是威妥瑪式拼音和郵政式汪含拼音，譯成“Peking”。

這是威妥瑪式拼音法。威妥瑪(1818--1895)，英國人。從1841年起在英國駐華使館任職，1871年升為英國駐華公使。 威妥瑪在華任職期間，為了外國人便於學(xué)習(xí)和掌握漢語、漢字，威妥瑪使用他根據(jù)北京讀書音制訂的拉丁字母拼音方案給漢字注音。這個方案以后被普遍用來拼寫中國的人名、地名等，一般稱為威妥瑪式拼音，如重慶Chungking、成都Chengtu、廣州Kwangchow、南京碧晌Nanking、天津Tietsin、桂林Kweilin、臺北Taipei等
